Andreas Schjelderup again rejects Liverpool as the kid is close to joining Benfica.
The 18-year-old winger, Andreas Schjelderup who has record of ten goals in 17 appearances for Nordsjaelland this season, is llikely to be close to a £12.5 million move to the Portuguese team.
In the summer of 2020, when Schjelderup was 16 years old and had the choice of several of Europe’s premier academies, including Liverpool’s, he decided to join the Danish team.
“I paid four visits to Ajax, four visits to PSV, four visits to Tottenham, Liverpool, Juventus, Fulham, Atalanta, and four visits to Bayern Munich,” Schjelderup explained.
“They [Nordsjaelland] have demonstrated that they give young players a chance and invest heavily in player development.”
The Norwegian U21 international admitted at the time that he was a Liverpool fan, but has since turned down a move to Anfield.
With his development in mind, Schjelderup will join Benfica for a reported £12.5 million, believing he will become an important figure in Lisbon more quickly.
He is likely to join the Portuguese club on a five-and-a-half-year contract.
What’s more?
Another forward on Liverpool’s radar is Brighton’s Leandro Trossard, who is expected to leave the Amex.
Roberto De Zerbi, the Seagulls’ owner, recently stated that he “wants more” from Trossard.
“On the field, I want players to work for the team and the squad. And Leandro is well aware of my thoughts and ideas. “I spoke with him a lot,” De Zerbi told reporters.
“I like him as a player but I want more from him because he can play better, he can work harder, he can run more on the pitch, and I want players who give 100% always in every training session and every game. They can’t play with me unless they have this or those characteristics.”
According to CBS journalist Ben Jacobs, Trossard’s agent contacted Liverpool and Manchester United about a possible move for the player, but they “dismissed it” because he was “leaking” information.
Trossard desires to relocate, which is the first thing to note about him. He has no particular preferences, according to Jacobs.
“His agent has been working extremely hard to generate interest. He has played for Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United, and Newcastle United.
“Liverpool and Manchester United dismissed it, and from what I understand, they were irritated by how much information was being leaked about his client’s interest.”
