Everton FC are showing interest to sign Chelsea winger Hakim Ziyech as a possible replacement for Anthony Gordon.
According to Sky Sports News, the Toffees are willing to pay up to £25 million for the Moroccan, with Chelsea considering releasing him.
Everton FC have denied making a bid for the 29-year-old, who has been at Stamford Bridge since the summer of 2020 following a £33.3 million move from Ajax.
Ziyech, on the other hand, has struggled at the Blues, making only six starts in all competitions this season and failing to score in his 15 appearances.
Meanwhile, Newcastle and Everton are still negotiating a deal for Gordon, with one source telling Sky Sports News that the deal is getting closer.
The 21-year-old is not currently training with the Everton first team at Finch Farm, and the Magpies are looking for a replacement for Chris Wood, who recently joined Nottingham Forest.
Although not a direct replacement, Newcastle see Gordon as a versatile front-line player who can play in a variety of positions.
Newcastle turned down an offer for Gordon in the summer, but they remain interested. Everton may persuade to sell by a bid of around £40 million.
The move is complicated by Everton’s managerial situation; Frank Lampard was fired on Monday, and any new manager may want to keep Gordon, who has 18 months left on his current contract at Goodison Park.
