Biratnagar Super Kings have won the Nepal T20 League for the first time. Hussain Talat‘s all-round performance helped them defeat Pokhara Avengers by six wickets.
Talat’s half-century inspired Biratnagar to chase the target of 140 runs in the allotted 19 overs with seven balls to spare. Pakistan’s seasoned batsman scored an unbeaten 50 runs off 30 balls. Arjun Saud and Andre McCarthy each assisted 25 and 21 runs. Pokhara’s Kushal Malla and Sharad Vesawkar each took two wickets.
Despite a slow start, Pokhara managed 139 runs in their first innings. Kushal Malla hit an 18-ball 37 to help the slow start. Siddhant Lohani scored 26 runs, while Pratish GC hit 11 runs off four balls. Upul Tharanga failed to deliver yet again, scoring 19 runs off 28 balls.
Biratnagar’s Raj Nannan and Hussain Talat each took two wickets. Nandan Yadav, Shahab Alam, and Andre McCarthy each took one wicket.
Pokhara Avengers are at the bottom of the table after losing four consecutive games. Biratnagar, on the other hand, won their first game after losing two in a row. Lumbini All-stars are the table leaders with eight points from four matches.
