Ilkay Gundogan and his wife Sara have made a kind gesture to Turkey’s earthquake victims.
Since the catastrophic earthquake struck in the early hours of Monday morning, more than 17,000 people have perished in Turkey and Syria.
And more than 14,000 of them were in Turkey.
Although time is running short, survivors are still being retrieved from the wreckage.
However, the Gundogan family is all pitching in to help.
According to BILD, the midfielder’s father is on site in Balikesir and is assisting with transportation.
He was born in Gelsenkirchen, although his parents were Turkish. His father, Irfan, worked in Balikesir before moving to Germany.
Man City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan and his partner have donated two trucks of bread to support those impacted.
“My family and I were really busy with the celebrations,” the City resident explained.
“Our thoughts are now with the people in the crisis areas.
“It is critical that we all work together now. The people rely on our assistance.
“We have received a lot of encouragement and support thus far!”
“We are presently attempting to gather additional food and material donations in the form of baby food, blankets, hygiene items, and warm clothes.
“We will then coordinate transportation to Turkey with the Turkish Embassy in London.”

Sara Gundogan, Gundogan’s wife, added: “We extend our support to the earthquake victims.
“They currently have no electricity and no food.
“We sent two trucks with bread, but they also need blankets, food. Also we sent other items if any of our friends or followers wish to help.”
After only two days of fundraising, Sun readers have contributed more than £500,000 to people impacted by the tragedy through our Earthquake Appeal.
The money raised by The Sun’s help appeal will be sent to the British Red Cross, which will provide on-the-ground support in Turkey and Syria.
