Jakub Kiwior has signed a long-term contract with Arsenal from Serie A side Spezia Calcio.
The 22-year-old Polish international defender made 43 appearances for the Italian club. He made his club appreances before getting into the national team squad for the recent FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
Jakub Kiwior began his career at Polish club GKS Tychy, then moved to Belgium with Anderlecht. He was part of Slovakian club FK Zeleziarne Podbrezova at the age of 18.
After a season with the club, Jakub went to MSK Zilina, where he played in 46 games over two seasons.
Due to his strong performances, the left-sided central defender moved to Spezia in August 2021. He had established himself as a regular in the Serie A club’s starting lineup. Jakub made his full international debut in Italy and has now played nine times for Poland.

Without a senior appearance, the Polish central defender was released by Anderlecht’s academy in January 2019 and thrown into a relegation battle in Slovakia, which ultimately failed.
But, since then, the 22-year-old has ended up marking Lionel Messi at the World Cup, been identified as a future leader for his country. Also he now has joined Arsenal’s Premier League title bid after joining from Serie A’s Spezia Calcio for more than 20 million euros.
Kiwior, who has played 37 league games for Spezia since joining in the summer of 2021, is Arsenal’s second January signing, following Belgian winger Leandro Trossard, and will compete with William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes in the heart of the defense.
