Keylor Navas, the goalkeeper for Paris Saint-Germain, has agreed to join Nottingham Forest. After initially hesitating, Navas accepted the offer from the Premier League club, whose starting goalkeeper, Dean Henderson, recently injured himself and is expected to be out for several weeks.
Navas previously turned down an offer from Al-Nassr, the Saudi Arabian club led by Rudi Garcia and where Cristiano Ronaldo has recently joined. Navas preferred to play in a European league and was courted by both Nottingham Forest and Bournemouth during the transfer window, with Forest reportedly making the most concrete approach.
The only thing left to do is reach an agreement with PSG. A straight loan, a loan with a mandatory purchase option, or a permanent transfer could be on the table.
As of Friday, discussions were still ongoing. However, PSG would not be opposed to Navas’ salary savings, as he earns €9 million gross per year and is under contract until 2024.
