Kylian Mbappe has been named Ligue 1 Player of the month for November and December. He is marking the eighth time in his career that he has won the award.
The November and December honors were combined because of the World Cup. Mbappe who scored twice in the games before the break, replaces Rennes forward Martin Terrier, who won the honor in October.
The PSG man beat Rennes midfielder Benjamin Bourigeaud. He also beat Lens midfielder Séko Fofana to the award. The award is voted on by the public and his peers, for the first time this season. Neymar and Lionel Messi had won in August and September, respectively. Mbappé’s eight player of the month awards now put him three ahead of Zlatan Ibrahimovic for the record.
