Luke Shaw has signed a new contract with Manchester United that will keep him at the club for the next four years.
Luke Shaw has made over 200 appearances for Manchester United since 2014.
Shaw’s current contract was extended by the club for one year in December. But he would become a free agent in the summer of 2024.
Shaw joined Manchester United from Southampton in 2014. He said after signing new contract: ‘Nine years ago, I joined this amazing club, and I’m very happy to be extend my stay.
‘I’ve grown enormously as a person and as a player since moving to Manchester all those years ago; I know what it takes to succeed at a club like this.
‘We’re just getting started with the manager and his coaching staff.
‘We’ve had some success this season, but we want a lot more. There’s a fantastic opportunity to create something special here, and I’m willing to go to any length to be a part of it.’
Luke Shaw will be playing in Manchester United until 2027
‘Luke is a massively important player to the squad and has grown into one of the best defenders in the world,’ said United’s football director John Murtough.
‘He has been with the club for nearly a decade and understands the expectations for success, as well as the hard work, dedication, and high standards required to achieve it.’
‘He has added leadership to his other outstanding qualities, and we all hope to see him in a Manchester United shirt for many years to come.’
Shaw joined United from Southampton in 2014 for a fee of £30 million when he was only 18 years old.
He has since gone on to make 249 appearances for the club in all competitions, as well as 29 England caps. The new contract extends his time at the club to more than a decade.
