Marquinhos signs a new deal with PSG through the end of the 2027/28 season.
Paris Saint-Germain confirmed this afternoon that captain Marquinhos has signed a contract extension. The contract will keep him in the French capital until the conclusion of the 2027/28 season.
The Brazilian international signed from Roma in 2013. He has since made 400 appearances for the club, winning seven Ligue 1 championships (and shortly to be eight). He ranks third in PSG’s all-time appearance list and first in European matches played.
The 29-year-old has struggled with injuries at important points this season. But he has still made 43 appearances across all competitions. The centre-back is the latest crucial player to sign a long-term contract extension. Midfielder Marco Verratti also extending at the turn of the year, months after Kylian Mbappé’s much-publicized next deal, which fended off Real Madrid interest.
Marquinhos is set to play for PSG as they attempt to win a record-breaking 11th Ligue 1 title in the last three games of the season, beginning with a trip to Auxerre on Sunday night.
