Montpellier rejected Chelsea’s €27.5 million (£24m/$30m) deal for striker Elye Wahi, but he is eager to join the Blues.
Montpellier has rejected Chelsea’s initial approach for Wahi, but L’Equipe says that the club is open to additional talks. The striker, who scored 19 goals in Ligue 1 last season, is also thought to be interested in the move.
Atletico Madrid and Eintracht Frankfurt are also interested in the 20-year-old, who has three caps for France’s U21 team. As a result, Chelsea is attempting to close a deal as soon as possible.
While Wahi is known to want to play in England, it is expected that he will be loaned out for the 2023-24 season, maybe to Strasbourg, Chelsea’s new sister club.
Wahi appears to have a lot of interest, so Chelsea will be hoping to close this deal soon.
