Neymar Jr. has no intentions to leave Paris Saint-Germain before his contract expires in 2027.
If the Brazilian playmaker gets his wish, he will have spent a decade in Paris. He will stay in PSG following his record-breaking €222 million signing from Barcelona in 2017. Neymar’s contract was extended in 2021, and he currently makes around €36 million per year. Thus far, the Brazilian maverick’s season has been divided into two parts. He was absolutely soaring with Les Parisiens until he departed for the World Cup in Qatar. After Brazil’s painful quarter-final elimination at the hands of Croatia, Neymar has been nowhere near the level he displayed last October.
Neymar will now miss time after suffering a partial ankle ligament tear during PSG’s triumph over Lille on Sunday. The 31-year-old is unlikely to face Bayern Munich in the season-ending Champions League last 16-second leg on March 8.
Neymar is determined to move heaven and earth in order to face the Bavarians on their own turf. He supposedly wants to show his critics that his strong start to the season was more than just a warm-up for the World Cup.
Regarding his future in Paris, L’Equipe reports that Neymar has no plans to quit PSG, even if his close buddy Lionel Messi, who is out of contract in June, does.
The Brazilian is pondering finishing his deal with PSG, which means he’ll stay for another four seasons before leaving for good when he’s 35. According to the site, Neymar’s present salary make it tough for any team to match them. Only Premier League clubs like Chelsea, who are still interested in him, and Saudi PIF-owned Newcastle can afford him. Neymar’s crew concludes that the Brazilian always intended to stay in Paris until 2027 when he signed his contract renewal.
