Paul Pogba and Vlahovic both returned to team training today, giving Juventus a boost ahead of their weekend match against Atalanta. Pogba has yet to play a competitive minute for the Bianconeri since suffering a knee injury in pre-season training.
Juventus have announced that French midfielder Paul Pogba has returned to full training today. He spent the entire session with his teammates ahead of Thursday’s cup match against Monza.
The 29-year-old has yet to play in a competitive game since rejoining the Bianconeri this summer. It is due to a knee injury that necessitated surgery and forced him to miss France’s World Cup campaign.
After being out for five months, the midfielder finally retuns to training in some capacity last week. The Bianconeri have not yet confirmed his return to matchday action. Striker Duan Vlahovi joined the former Manchester United player in starting up full training. The team’s recent winning streak, which saw them reclaim a spot in the top four of Serie A, came to an end this past weekend. It resulted as Napoli trounced them 5-2.Next month, they play Nantes in the Europa League semifinals.
Vlahovic has been out with a groin injury and hasn’t played for Juve since October last year, despite appearing briefly at the World Cup.
According to Sky Sport Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio, both Vlahovic and Pogba trained with their Juve teammates today in Continassa. But they aren’t likely to play in the midweek Coppa Italia match against Monza, they should be back for the Atalanta game on Sunday.
As coach Max Allegri looks to bolster his squad for the upcoming Coppa Italia and Europa League matches, the Bianconeri are also close to recovering Leonardo Bonucci, Juan Cuadrado, and Mattia De Sciglio.
