RC Lens has extended the contract of French striker Florian Sotoca. The six-goal scorer in 18 games, including a hat-trick against Stade Brestois, signed a contract extension with Les Sang-et-Or until 2026.
The RC Lens squad, as is customary, crashed the contract extension and partied with the latest player to sign a long-term contract with the second-placed Ligue 1 outfit. Lens signed striker Wesley Sad and center-back Facundo Medina to new contracts in January.
Sotoca, a trustworthy and adaptable striker, is having his greatest season to date and has already matched his goal total from the previous year. With this new long-term contract, the player, who was born in Narbonne, will retire with Lens after joining the Nord team in 2019 from Grenoble FC. He will be 35 when his contract expires. The club will now concentrate on extending the contracts of Jonathan Gradit and Devier Machado.
Sotoca signed a permanent deal with Ligue 2 club Lens on July 9, 2019. On December 13, 2021, he signed a contract extension that will keep him at the club until June 20, 2024.
Sotoca scored a hat-trick for Lens in a 3-2 Ligue 1 victory over Brest on August 7, 2022.
