Sergio Ramos has expressed his disappointment at not being selected for this year’s World Cup by Spain boss Luis Enrique.
Spainish legend, Sergio Ramos excluded in the Fifa World Cup Spain’s squad. Ramos has reacted to the news that he will not be attending his fifth World Cup. After being expulsion from the squad by Luis Enrique, the PSG defender shared his thoughts on Instagram.
Enrique’s surprised many fans with his World Cup pick, which left out De Gea, Thiago, and Ramos. The 36-year-old could be one of Qatar’s most senior players if he was in the squad. But Enrique made the daring choice to leave him at home.
While Enrique has yet to reveal the reason for Ramos’ exclusion, his injuries in recent years may have played a role, despite the fact that he has played 20 times this season.
Furthermore, the battle for slots could explain his omission, as Pau Torres, Hugo Guillamon, Aymeric Laporte, and Eric Garcia were all chosen ahead of him.
Laporte’s early comeback from injury may have had an impact on Ramos’ expulsion. Guillamon’s successful performance at Valencia also played a role in the decision to leave Ramos at home.
Enrique is certainly making plans for the future, but Ramos’ ability likely to be missing. With such unexpected news, the Moroccan defender Achraf Hakimi also criticized the decision to leave his PSG teammate out of Spain’s World Cup squad.
