Spurs are close to negotiating personal terms with David Raya ahead of a potential summer transfer, according to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano.
Spurs are looking for a new goalkeeper as Llors’ replacement. They have highlighted Raya as a key target following an exceptional season with Brentford, where they finished ninth.
Raya has the most saves (154) and the greatest save percentage (75.1%) of any Premier League keeper last season.
As a consequence, the Spaniard has piqued the curiosity of many top English clubs, including Chelsea, Tottenham, and Manchester United.
Raya is likely to depart Brentford this summer after rejecting two prior contract offers from his current club.
football.london quotes Raya “Obviously, it’s nice to hear that teams are chasing you, enquiring about you, and looking for you.
“These are the biggest clubs in the world, and every player wants to play for them.”
“I just have a year left, and I’m not sure what will happen this summer.”
“It’s clear that I’ve declined two contracts because they aren’t the offers I’m expecting.”
“I want to push myself to the highest level and win the Champions League and Europa League.”
“I want to go through it, and I’m at that point in my football career.”
Spurs are now close to reaching an agreement on personal terms with Raya. But they have yet to agree on a cost with Brentford.
The Bees have already recruited Mark Flekken from Bundesliga club Freiburg as a potential replacement and are asking £40 million to part ways with Raya in the forthcoming transfer window.
