Youri Tielemans is likely to leave Leicester City this summer as the club faces Premier League relegation.
Youri Tielemans joined the club on loan from Monaco in January 2019, before making the move permanent ahead of the 2019-20 season.
In 195 appearances in all competitions over four years with the Foxes, the Belgium international scored 28 goals and supplied 26 assists.
The midfielder played the entire 2-1 win over West Ham United on Sunday. But he was of little use as Everton’s win over Bournemouth guaranteed Leicester’s relegation to the Championship.
Tielemans has now declared on Instagram that he will quit the club at the end of his contract in June.
“Dear Leicester City fans, after 4.5 special years and with a lot of gratitude, I’m bidding farewell to this incredible club,” Tielemans said.
“Your warmth and passion embraced me from the moment I set foot on this ground.”
Victory and victory, love, hope, and even failure are all possible outcomes.
“We’ve shared many special moments.” I will be eternally thankful for your steadfast support.
“Thank you to Khun Top (Chairman), the board, the staff, the players, and the fans for providing a home for me and my family.”
This is not a farewell, but rather a loving farewell.”
Tielemans was Leicester’s hero in the 2020-21 FA Cup final against Chelsea, scoring the game’s sole goal with a spectacular shot.
Following a dismal season, the Belgian is anticipated to be one of several players to leave the King Power Stadium.
Caglar Soyuncu is poised to move on a free transfer for Atletico Madrid. On the other hand, Ryan Bertrand and Jonny Evans are also out of contract.
Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United are both interested in acquiring Harvey Barnes and James Maddison this summer.
