Adrien Rabiot has stated that Inter Miami’s Lionel Messi does not deserve to win the Ballon d’Or in 2023.

Rabiot’s favorite players are Manchester City’s Erling Haaland and Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappe.

Not everyone, according to the Frenchman, will agree with his choice.

Messi, Haaland, and Mbappe are among the leading contenders for the Ballon d’Or this year.

Many consider Messi to be the frontrunner to win his record eighth Ballon d’Or on October 30 after finally winning the FIFA World Cup with La Albiceleste, but Adrien Rabiot believes Haaland or Mbappe are more deserving of the top renowned individual honor.

“The Ballon d’Or? On a sporting level, it will be played between Kylian Mbappé and Erling Haaland, according to Rabiot, who spoke to RMC Sport (via AlbicelesteTalk).

“I’ve heard a lot about Messi getting it.”
“On a sporting level, however, it will be played between Kylian Mbappé and Erling Haaland,” he stated.

“It depends on what you base it on, but saying one of them would be complicated.” Not everyone always agrees, but I believe it will come down to these two.”

Mbappe had a fantastic year for PSG and France, scoring 41 goals and registering 10 assists in 43 appearances across competitions while capturing his sixth Ligue 1 title with the Parisians. He also won the Golden Boot at the FIFA World Cup in 2022, scoring eight goals in seven games.

Haaland, on the other side, accomplished the treble with Manchester City, winning the Champions League, FA Cup, and Premier League. Furthermore, the Norwegian was named the Premier League and Champions League top scorer.

Adrien Rabiot rules Lionel Messi out of running for Ballon D’or

Lionel Messi is out of contention for the Ballon d’Or, according to Adrien Rabiot ahead of France’s UEFA European Championship qualifier against the Netherlands. As per Rabiot his international teammates Kylian Mbappé and Norwegian Striker Erling Haaland are the favorites for the Prize.

Messi is usually regarded as one of the favorites to succeed Karim Benzema as the winner of the prestigious Ballon d’Or.

The former PSG forward won the World Cup with Argentina in December, his sole title up to that point.
