Andre | According to reports, Fluminense midfielder has agreed personal terms with Liverpool.

Andre agreed personal terms with Liverpool FC

The 22-year-old has long been linked to the Reds. The Reds are rumored to have tried unsuccessfully to sign him for £25 million in the summer.

In the end, Andre made the decision to remain with Fluminense. The Club desired to retain their star midfield player for their run to the Copa Libertadores championship.

In an attempt to win the competition for the first time ever, Fluminense will play Boca Juniors this Saturday.

This summer, the Bahia-born midfielder decided to stay at Fluminense and help the team win the Copa Libertadores.

Despite interest from Premier League rivals Arsenal and Liverpool, Andre has declined to rule out moving to Europe in January.

According to rumors, Arsenal have joined the competition to sign Andre. Mikel Arteta is identifying the midfielder as a potential replacement for Thomas Partey.

However, Liverpool appear to have beaten Arsenal to the punch, according to journalist Francois Plateau, who reports in The Sun that Jurgen Klopp’s side have reached a verbal agreement with Andre over personal terms.

Andre to move to Liverpool?

However, Liverpool have yet to reach an agreement with Fluminense. There is still work to be done to ward off interest from other potential suitors, including Arsenal.

The Merseysiders are expected to intensify their pursuit of Andre ahead of the January transfer window, with Klopp keen to sign a new holding midfielder following the departure of Fabinho last summer.

Summer commitment Alexis MacAllister has played in a deeper midfield role this season, as has fellow new recruit Wataru Endo, but the addition of Andre would expand their options even further.

Since making his senior debut for Fluminense in September 2020, Andre has established himself as a first-team regular. He is expected to make his 161st appearance for the club in Saturday’s Copa Libertadores final.

Fluminense’s No.7, who made his international debut for Brazil in June, is under contract at the Brasileiro club until December 2026 and is represented by the same agent – Jorge Mendes – as Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota of Liverpool.
