Angel Di Maria to Leave JUVENTUS FC

Di Maria came as a free agent last summer after leaving Paris Saint-Germain, signing a one-year contract.

However, after revealing his exit from Juventus on social media, the 35-year-old will be without a club at the opening of the transfer season once more.

“This marks the end of a difficult and complicated period,” wrote Di Maria. “I leave knowing that I gave everything I had to help the club win more titles, but it wasn’t possible.”

“I leave with the bitter taste of not having succeeded, but the joy of taking many friends from the wonderful dressing room I was a part of with me.” Thank you to everyone in my team for their dedication from the beginning; and I was always made to feel welcome.

“A big hello to all the Juventinos for the love they show me every day.” I love you and will always remember you.”

Di Maria made an instant impression at Juventus, scoring and assisting on his debut. However, the World Cup winner got hurt in that game and was limited by fitness problems until the mid-season break.

Di Maria struggled to make a consistent impression at Juventus under Massimiliano Allegri, finishing the season with eight goals and seven assists in 40 games.

After being docked ten points, Juventus finished seventh in Serie A and qualified for the Europa Conference League the following season.
