Arne Slot will continue to coach Feyenoord instead of taking on as Tottenham Hotspur’s head coach.
Arne Slot has stated that he will remain at Feyenoord despite interest from Tottenham.
Slot’s agent says: “I have been hearing a lot of rumors going around about other clubs’ interest in me.”
“Although grateful, my wish is to stay at Feyenoord and finish the project we started last year.”
“There has been no transfer conversation, and yesterday’s meeting [with Feyenoord] was solely for an extension.”
“All discussions with the club have always been in that context.” “I’m looking forward to the upcoming season with Feyenoord.”
Spurs were desperate to sign Slot after he won the Eredivisie with Feyenoord this season, according to reports last week.
“There are no official request from Tottenham”, says the Dutch club’s director, Dennis te Kloese.
Arne Slot joins Alonso and Kompany in remaining at Spurs
Slot is the latest European manager to commit to his present team, despite interest from Tottenham.
The Tottenham hierarchy appreciated and impressed both Xabi Alonso and Vincent Kompany, according to Sky Sports News.
However, after being linked to Tottenham, Kompany signed a new deal with newly promoted Premier League club Burnley last week, while Alonso – who was not a priority target – stated last week that he is remaining at Bayer Leverkusen.
As of reports, earlier this month that former Spain manager Luis Enrique is another candidate, while the club is also considering making interim head coach Ryan Mason a full-time replacement.
