Barcelona‘s business will be limited this winter. Sergi Roberto will be asked to fill any gaps they leave in January.

Barcelona likely to offer Sergi Roberto a new contract extension

The Catalans are preparing for the possibility that they will only be able to bring in one low-cost signing this winter, despite having two positions of need. Barcelona’s President Joan Laporta and Sporting Director Jordi Cruyff are both stating about little in the business for the club. Xavi Hernandez would like to strengthen right-back and central midfield. He tries to power up whichever position they do not bring in, Roberto will be asked to cover.

This follows a report from Ara claiming that Barcelona intends to extend Roberto’s contract. His current contract, which was signed at a significantly reduced rate, is set to expire at the end of the year.
