The Scotland youth international has transformed himself from an impact sub to one of the first names on the team sheet in the new year.

“Hard work and a competitive environment have aided me.” “I love playing football here,” Hay said.

“I should give all of the credit to my teammates for assisting me in becoming the player I’ve worked so hard to become recently. I’ve worked hard to get a new contract here, and obviously, playing with some of the best players in the country has helped.”

She was also complimentary about January signing Rachel McLauchlan, who joined from champions Glasgow City.

“She’s very vocal on the field and assists me greatly with my defensive movement. It’s nice to have someone speaking up for me and assisting me as a player.”

The 22-year-old admits she hopes to catch the attention of the national team as well, with a new Scotland head coach set to be appointed soon.

“Having progressed through the Scottish youth ranks, it is obviously a dream of mine to reach the top level and play for the A squad.” I just hope that by working hard enough, I can earn a chance.”
