Carlos Borges named Premier League 2 Player of the Month for February.

Carlos Borges has been selected February’s Premier League 2 Player of the Month.

The winger wins the prize after helping Manchester City, the division’s leader, to three goals in as many games.

Before scoring once more in a 5-0 victory over Everton, the 18-year-old scored twice in a 3-1 victory over Liverpool.

Carlos Borges, who joined Man City from Sporting Lisbon, was a Portuguese native. He participated in City’s 2021/22 PL2 championship-winning season on 11 occasions.

The Portuguese youth international scored three goals as we won two and drew one of our three Premier League 2 games, putting us in contention for a third straight crown.

With 16 goals in 18 games, the 18-year-old is presently the league’s leading scorer.

His month began with a key brace in a 3-1 win against Liverpool, followed by a second-half substitute appearance in a 2-2 draw at Fulham.

He scored City’s third goal in a 5-0 triumph against Everton in his last Premier League 2 game of the month.

Carlos’s outstanding form was enough to beat over Omari Forson (Manchester United), Harry Gardiner (Sunderland), Alfie Gilchrist (Chelsea), Omari Kellyman (Aston Villa), Divin Mubama (West Ham United), Romaine Mundle (Tottenham Hotspur), and Oliver Tipton (Wolverhampton Wanderers).

Carlos Borges: Club Career

Borges, who was born in Sintra, Lisbon Area, first played football there. After a brief season-long stint with Sporting Portugal in the capital, he then joined the Manchester City Academy.

He advanced through all of the youth divisions there, often contributing goals and assists to the under-18 and under-23 teams as City won both national competitions between 2020 and 2022.

In May 2021, he was recognized as Manchester City’s Under-18 Player of the Year. 

He gained notoriety in September 2022 when he scored a hat trick and provided an assist in Man City’s Youth League debut victory over Sevilla, 5-1. 

In the 3-1 victory away to Copenhagen a month later, he contributed with a goal and an assist.
