Chelsea are preparing another offer for Malo Gusto

Chelsea F.C. are looking to add wing-back cover and a midfielder to their squad for the second half of the season. Graham Potter’s side have already signed six players in January.

Malo Gusto has emerged as a top target for Chelsea, and the Blues have already agreed personal terms on a long-term contract with the defender at Stamford Bridge, despite interest from Manchester United.

The defender is said to be keen on a move to the English capital, where he would provide cover and competition for Reece James, who is nearing a return from a knee injury after making his Cobham training debut last week.

Chelsea had a bid for Gusto rejected on Monday that it was in the region of €20 million.

A second offer is reportedly being under process and is imminent, with the Blues set to make a bid of between €30-40 million for the teenager.

Lyon, who have no backup plan if they lose Gusto, are doing everything they can to persuade him to stay with the Ligue 1 club until the end of the season – a six-month loan back – but it’s not an option for Gusto or Chelsea right now.

Chelsea F.C. is a potential transfer target for Gusto

Gusto is only showing interest in a move to Blues, who are looking to complete more business before the transfer window closes next week.

Chelsea head coach Graham Potter did say the club wasn’t expecting many more signings after Noni Madueke arrived on Friday, but Gusto could be the next to arrive in west London.

Gusto has received assurances from Potter regarding his game time at the English side between now and the end of the season.

The Blues has had a busy month so far, and it shows no signs of slowing down, with more incomings and outgoings expected before the January deadline.
