Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting | Bayern Munich wants to keep striker, according to Florian Plettenberg.
Earlier in the season, there were reports that Bayern were willing to let Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting leave the club during the January transfer window. It seemed that selling the Cameroonian would provide Der Rekordmeister with enough money to sign defensive and midfield reinforcements.
However, Bayern do not want to lose Choupo-Moting, whose contract expires in the summer. One reason for this is that, with the record champions competing for silverware on two fronts, Thomas Tuchel will require as many options as possible from now until the end of the season.
Furthermore, Bayern have not had to spend heavily on signings this window, with Eric Dier joining from Tottenham Hotspur for a low fee, and the club is satisfied with their current midfield options. The Bayern board’s only priority right now is to sign a right-back, with Kieran Trippier and Nordi Mukiele at the top of their shortlist.
Nonetheless, while Bayern and Choupo-Moting hope to remain together until the end of the season, there is a slim chance of a sale during this window. However, it is obvious that the Rekordmeister would have to accept a ridiculous offer to sell.
