Fabio Grosso May take over Lyon as New Coach.
Lyon are expected to select Fabio Grosso, a former player, as the new head coach of their men’s first squad. He will take over for Laurent Blanc, who was fired following a dismal start to the season. Lyon are now bottom of the standings, having lost three of their first four games and drew one.
There were talks with former Napoli and Valencia manager Gennaro Gattuso, but the accord fell through after the owner objected. A different Italian will now take charge of the first team in order to repair the damage done at the start of the season.
Fabio Grosso will be the next head coach of Lyon for the 23/24 season.
Grosso was a full-back for Lyon from 2007 until 2009. In 2013, he began coaching the Juventus junior program before going on to Bari, Verona, Brescia, FC Sion, and Frosinone.
He was in charge of the Frosinone first team last season, and he led them to Serie A after winning Serie B. However, he left the team at the end of the season to pursue a new opportunity.
Fabio Grosso will now begin his career in one of Europe’s top divisions with Lyon. The new manager will most likely be introduced this weekend when Lyon plays Le Havre. He will formally begin coaching the first team on Monday.
