2022 Fifa World Cup

A crazy prediction made by the legend Samuel Eto

Samuel Eto’o has made the daring prediction that Cameroon will defeat Morocco in this year’s Fifa World Cup final in Qatar.

The former Barcelona and Inter Milan striker, who represented Cameroon in four editions of the competition throughout his sparkling career, believes that this year is the year for African teams to display their true potential. No African country has ever advanced past the quarter-finals, with only Cameroon (1990), Senegal (2002), and Ghana (2010) ever making it past the last 16. Cameroon is now 35th rank in the world, while Morocco is in 22nd.

‘Africa has always had the ability to have a good World Cup, but we haven’t always showed our best face up to now,’ Eto’o told ESPN. ‘Over the years, African teams have gained more and more experience, and I believe they are now ready not just to compete in, but even to win, a World Cup.’ ‘Cameroon will defeat Morocco in the World Cup final.’

Eto’o even confidently illustrated each country’s path to the final. He claims, Morocco will have eliminated Spain, Portugal, and France. While his Cameroon, would send Belgium and Senegal home in the quarter- and semi-finals before conquering Morocco.

‘As president of our federation, I would want to see Cameroon win the World Cup,’ he continued.

Having already played in Qatar at the back and end of his career, Eto’o expects them to knock England out in the final 16.
