Morocco’s defensive toughness has undoubtedly been a key component of their success in the tournament thus far.

The North African team has only given up one goal, an own goal by Nayef Aguerd against Canada.

Croatia, Belgium, Spain, and Portugal have all struggled to break down Morocco, who have only allowed nine total shots on target in five games.

For the majority of their matches, France has been content to concede possession. They focus on that in order to exploit opponents on the counter-attack. But as a result, their defense has continued to allow goals.

Prediction: This one is likely to go the distance

France has an abundance of attacking talent and has appeared nearly impossible to stop from scoring in this tournament. But, as good as Morocco has been up front, they have been even better at the back.

Portugal had just scored six goals against a very good Swiss team. In the group stage, Spain had scored seven goals against Costa Rica. All of that didn’t matter against Morocco, who kept a clean sheet against both on their way to two knockout victories.

Morocco has only conceded one goal in five games this tournament, and it wasn’t even scored by an opponent! Expect more of the same today, as Morocco will successfully silence France’s attack while also failing to create enough scoring opportunities for themselves.
