Erling Haaland is set to debut in popular mobile game Clash of Clans, where the Manchester City goal-scoring sensation will become its first ever playable character.
Erling Haaland, the Manchester City superstar, will make his video game debut in Clash of Clans.
The 23-year-old Norwegian goal machine has teamed up with the popular mobile game, where he will be the first playable character. Haaland will become the renowned ‘Barbarian King’, immortalized in a football-themed seasonal game event.
Starting Wednesday, May 1, fans will be able to play as the City striker and enjoy a variety of football-related activities throughout the game. They will also be able to challenge the Nordic powerhouse’s in-game village.
Last season, Haaland established the Premier League record for goals scored by a player in his debut season in England, before completing a historic treble with City. He makes even more history becoming the first real person to appear in Clash of Clans.
Erling Haaland is the game’s first ever playable character
This season, the forward has scored 32 goals. Over two billion times have people downloaded the game. The forward has always enjoyed it. The collaboration began when he even constructed an amazing in-game hamlet.
Speaking about becoming a playable character, Haaland said: “It’s been difficult to keep this one quiet, but I’m happy to finally be able to share about this great collaboration with Clash of Clans.
“I’ve been a huge fan of the game for a long time and know everything about it, so to appear as an in-game character is really cool.”
