Harry Kane was named the European Golden Boot winner after a remarkable debut season at Bayern Munich.

Domestic campaigns in Europe came to a close over the weekend. Bayern Munich’s season ended a week ago with a defeat to Hoffenheim. Die Roten had a poor season, since they did not win any trophies. Kane was officially named the winner of the European Golden Boot this weekend. The English forward netted 36 goals in 32 Bundesliga outings. He was the leading scorer in Europe’s top five leagues by a large margin. Serhou Guirassy of VfB Stuttgart ended second on the list, with 28 league goals.

Bayern shattered their transfer record when they signed Kane from Tottenham Hotspur last summer. After failing to replace the vacuum left by Robert Lewandowski in 2022, Die Roten picked Kane as the best candidate to spearhead the attack. After a long transfer controversy, Kane arrived in Munich following the club’s pre-season tour.

Along with scoring goals, Kane’s linkup play in the final third helped other Bayern forwards. During the first half of the season, Leroy Sane and Kane worked together brilliantly. The English forward occasionally dropped deep and made crisp deliveries to wide forwards.
The 30-year-old striker finished with eight assists in the Bundesliga.

On the personal front, Kane will be pleased with how his season has gone at Bayern. However, the English striker is eager to win trophies. He failed to win a trophy during his time at Spurs. A transfer to Bayern was a great opportunity for Kane to break his trophy drought. However, the Bavarian club failed to win any of the three competitions this season.

Kane will play a significant role in Vincent Kompany’s ambitions at Bayern. The Belgian coach has signed a three-year contract with Bayern, and the Bavarian club has agreed a fee with Burnley. Kompany is aware of Kane’s abilities because they played against each other in the Premier League.

After one season in the Bundesliga, the English forward will be a better player next season. He is the favourite to win the European Golden Boot next season. Kane would prefer that his honors be accompanied with collaborative achievements at Bayern over the coming year.
