Inter Milan will extend the contract of defender Alessandro Bastoni until the end of June 2028.
This is according to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, through FCInter1908, who indicate that everything has been agreed on a new agreement for the 23-year-old, and that the formal announcement of a new deal, which would see him earn €5 million net each season plus add-ons, is due shortly.
Inter have been lobbying for a new deal with important defender Bastoni.
Despite the fact that the player’s current contract expires at the end of next June, reaching an agreement on a new contract as soon as feasible has been a priority. The Nerazzurri’s objective has been to avoid having Bastoni enter the last season of his contract at all costs.
Because to Milan Skriniar’s choice to go on a free transfer, Inter have learnt the hard way what can happen in these scenarios.
As a result, the club has accelerated negotiations with Bastoni in recent weeks.
If there won’t be a new agreement between the club and the player, Inter may sell him in summer. If the Nerazzurri were unable to ensure the ex-Atalanta defender’s future, they would have been willing to sell.
Manchester City are keeping eye in the 23-year-old. Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus are also keeping a close eye on Bastoni’s contract negotiations with Inter.
Inter Milan will complete the extension of Alessandro Bastoni’s contract.
