Jadon Sancho turned down all late-summer transfer deadline offers as Manchester United put a £65 million price tag. As a result, he headed to New York to party with NBA star John Wall.

Sancho was left out of the United side that lost 3-1 to Arsenal earlier this month, with boss Ten Hag citing his “performance in training” as the reason. The England international responded on social media, accusing his management of making him a’scapegoat’ for the team’s poor start to the season. The 23-year-old erased the post after putting it to the top of his X, formerly Twitter, profile for more than a week.

According to The Athletic, the Red Devils were willing to move the former Borussia Dortmund star following his outburst, even though the summer transfer windows in Saudi Arabia and Turkey were still open.

According to the article, Saudi clubs were advised to pay at least £65 million ($81.3 million) for Sancho, but requests from the player and his representation to leave the club were rejected.

Sancho even travelled to New York with Aaron Wan-Bissaka the day before the Saudi transfer window closed on September 7 to celebrate NBA star John Wall’s birthday.

According to The Athletic, no discussions had taken place between Sancho and Ten Hag prior to that, with numerous players who were not on international duty being offered time off.

Sancho has yet to live up to the £73 million ($91 million) transfer fee paid by United to Borussia Dortmund in 2021. In 58 Premier League appearances for Manchester United, he has only nine goals and six assists. In 104 Bundesliga appearances with Dortmund, he scored 38 goals and assisted 51 times. This controversy comes as United and teammate winger Antony have agreed that he should stay away from the club in order to “address allegations” of assault made against him.

United will play Brighton in the Premier League on Saturday. It is uncertain whether Sancho will participate in that match. At last, his time with the Red Devils is running out.
