Julian Nagelsmann is one of the major candidates for the future head coach of the German national team.
According to Sky Germany, the 36-year-old is Rudi Voller’s ‘ideal solution’ for sporting director. This week, as he prepared to take over the squad after Hansi Flick was let go, Voller said that Nagelsmann is “absolutely a top coach.”
The German national association and Nageslmann have yet to make contact.
He is also officially under contract at Bayern Munich until 2026, despite being replaced earlier this year by Thomas Tuchel.
According to a Sky Germany poll, Jurgen Klopp is the clear favorite of the fans, but he will not leave Liverpool mid-season and is under contract at Anfield until 2026. A dual role is likewise out of the question.
Former Fulham manager Felix Magath put his hat in the ring yesterday, and Matthias Sammer and Louis van Gaal are also considered outside candidates.
