Liverpool is considered the favorite in the decisive match by bookmakers. Jurgen Klopp’s team’s final victory has a coefficient of 1.50, while Chelsea’s success is 2.60.
The match will take place on February 25 at Wembley Stadium.
Liverpool vs Chelsea: One More Time
The Reds secured their place at Wembley by holding Fulham to a 1-1 draw at Craven Cottage on Wednesday.
Jurgen Klopp’s side won 3-2 on aggregate, after defeating Fulham 2-1 at Anfield 14 days earlier.
Chelsea defeated Middlesbrough 6-2 in the other semifinal.
Luis Diaz put the Reds ahead in London with a fine individual goal after 11 minutes.
Diaz received a high crossfield pass on his chest, then dribbled into the 18-yard box and fired a right-footed shot inside Bernd Leno’s near post.
Caoimhin Kelleher was forced to make three saves before Andreas Pereira hit the post early in the second half as Fulham threatened to respond.
The Cottagers eventually equalized in the 76th minute, with Issa Diop diverting the ball past Kelleher after good work by former Reds winger Harry Wilson.
Kelleher later made his fourth save of the night, preventing Wilson from tying the game on aggregate.
Liverpool has now reached 14 League Cup finals, four more than any other club.
If the Reds beat Chelsea next month, they will become the first team to win the competition ten times.
