Marseille F.C. and Almeria have reached an agreement for the striker Luis Suarez to join them on loan in January with a €8 million option to buy out his contract should they avoid relegation.

MARSEILLE F.C.’s Luis Suarez is joining Laliga’s UD Almera

Luis Suárez of Marseille is set to leave the Orange Vélodrome after only six months at the club. The Colombian will join La Liga side Almera on a loan deal. But the transfer may become permanent if the Spanish club stays in the top flight.

Suárez arrived in Marseille in July for a fee of €10 million from Granda. He has made 11 appearances for the club, scoring three goals, all of which have come in Ligue 1. However, Les Phocéens appear to be on the verge of losing the player. According to Romano, the Colombian, who has four national team caps, is set to join Almera on loan, with the deal reportedly done and soon to be finalized.

If Almera remain in Spain’s top flight, the loan will become permanent. The buy option, which could become an obligation, is priced at €8 million, implying that Marseille will lose €2 million on the player, who only joined in the summer. The agreement will be signed soon.
