Marseille nearing to sign Ismaila Sarr

Marseille and Watford have reached an agreement to sign the Senegalese winger Ismaila Sarr.

Personal details have been agreed upon prior to the potential move. The 25-year-old will be receiving a physical on Monday.

Sarr’s current deal with the Championship club expires in a year, but no substantive conversations regarding an extension have taken place at Vicarage Road.

Last summer, Aston Villa came close to signing the Senegal international, while Crystal Palace and Tottenham had previously kept tabs on his position.

However, the attacker, who represented his country at the World Cup in Qatar last year, is set to make the transfer to Ligue 1, with his playing style seen as a great fit for Marseille coach Marcelino.

Sarr moved to Watford from Rennes for a club-record cost of £28.8 million.

Last season, he made 39 appearances for Watford in all competitions, scoring 10 goals and providing six assists.

Watford winger Sarr has piqued the curiosity of Olympique Marseille and Everton, according to writer Santi Aouna. The Ligue 1 team, though, is in the lead because they already made an offer to the Senegalese forward. Sarr was already eager to move.

Sarr’s interest in Everton is not new. Sarr was in eye of Everton during the January transfer window. It appears that EFC will be unable to obtain their guy. Sarr to Marseille is now complete, according to Fabrizio Romano. Watford and Marseille have struck an agreement verbally after making contact yesterday.

The Nigerian is a tireless player who can play on the right wing, but he loves to play centrally where he can drive the ball forward and create chances. Iwobi will be out if a strong right winger join so Dyche can use him in the center.
