Martin Odegaard is in PSG’s target for Lionel Messi’s relacement.
Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) are allegedly interested in acquiring Arsenal’s Martin Odegaard as a substitute for Lionel Messi. The Ligue 1 club will not be alone in their pursuit, as Bayern Munich will also be present.
PSG are interested in signing Odegaard following his good season with Arsenal. The French champions have been monitoring the Norwegian and have decided to launch a €65 million bid for him.
According to the report, Thomas Tuchel is a great fan of the Arsenal captain and has requested Bayern Munich to make a deal. The Bundesliga club is yet to make a decision on the probable deal but has not ruled it out.
Odegaard has no desire to return to Real Madrid and would pursue any other option if he is forced to depart. The Norwegian has stated that he will not work with Florentino Perez again.
Martin Odegaard: PSG’s favorite target to the World Cup Winner
Martin Odegaard has stated that he is content at Arsenal and has no ambitions to leave the club in the near future. “I’m so proud to be captain of this club, and I feel like I’m going to be here for a long time,” the former Real Madrid star stated in an article for The Players’ Tribune. There are no bounds to what we can do. Nobody can convince me differently.”
He further explained his choice to join the Gunners, saying, “I spoke to Mikel Arteta on a Zoom call and he told me everything about the project.” Arsenal were struggling at the moment. They were somewhere about 15th on the table, but that encounter… To be honest, I dare anyone to leave a meeting with Arteta and not accept all he says. He’s on another level. It’s difficult to put into words. He’s passionate, intense, and, yes, occasionally insane… But when he talks, you know that everything he says will come true.”
The PSG target added: “He told me his plan, everything he was building towards.” He knew exactly what needed to be changed at the club. He informed me about the squad’s fantastic young players, such as [Bukayo] Saka, [Gabriel] Martinelli, [Emile] Smith Rowe, and so on. He explained how he wanted me to fit in and how I was going to progress. I had a strong impression he was on to something remarkable.”
PSG are considering Odegaard as a successor for Lionel Messi, who is due to depart the club at the conclusion of the season. His contract with the Ligue 1 club ends in the summer, and he is supposedly on his way to Barcelona.
