Messi’s hotel room in Qatar will be turned into a museum following Argentina’s World Cup victory.

Messi‘s trip to Qatar was a highlight not only for the Argentine legend. But it was also for every football fan around the world. In Qatar, the left-footed genius ended his country’s 36-year wait to lift the prestigious FIFA World Cup trophy. To commemorate the achievement, the University of Qatar has decided to establish a miniature museum in Messi’s honor. The university announced on December 27 that the site would be the room where Argentina’s captain had stayed during the competition.

However, it has not yet been determined whether the museum will remain in the same complex or relocated elsewhere on campus.

Achraf Ben Ayad, a journalist based in Qatar, was the first to report the news on his personal Twitter account. He posted a photo of ‘Room No. 201,’ where Messi stayed during the World Cup. Several other videos depicting the blue and white Qatar University campus in Doha were also shared on social media. Numerous celebratory elements of the massive victory were seen lining the hallways, ranging from giant posters of the Argentine players to their replica jerseys.

Instead of staying in a five-star luxury hotel, the Argentina team chose to stay at a university. The decision was made because the footballers wanted to continue their tradition of having beef barbeques there. For the convenience of the players, a special lot of beef was brought into Qatar. A chef was also assigned to handle the cooking duties. He ensured that the barbeques tasted exactly like they do in the South American country.

Messi’s Contribution for the Argentina Fifa World Cup Victory

Messi was a huge part of Argentina’s dominance in the Qatar World Cup. The 35-year-old was also named tournament player of the year for his outstanding leadership and individual performance. During the main event, he had seven goals and three assists. In addition, the PSG forward became the only player to score in the group stage, round of 16, quarterfinal, semifinal, and final match.
