Mohamed Salah collects December's Player of the Month award.

Mohamed Salah was named Liverpool’s Standard Chartered Player of the Month for December after playing in all of the Reds’ games during the month.

Due to the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, Liverpool’s first match of the month did not take place until the 22nd of December. He played and scored in Liverpool’s 3-2 defeat to Manchester City in the fourth round of the EFL Cup at the Etihad Stadium.

Salah stated to LiverpoolFC.com on press:

“It’s always nice to win, but we’ve all agreed in recent weeks that we can do better. And hopefully the results will improve in the coming games.

“The players were ecstatic following the game [at Wolves]. We have a great group; the players all try to stick together and lift each other up.

Liverpool’s 1-0 FA Cup victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers on Tuesday night turned the Red’s sadness to relief. Jurgen Klopp stated the value of unity and insisted that the team is strong during this trying period.

Mohamed Salah echoed his manager’s remarks, comparing the current Liverpool dressing room to others he has been a part of.

“As I previously stated, we have a fantastic group. I’ve been on three or four teams, so I know what sets this one apart from the others. We have an incredible group.
