Moises Caicedo of Brighton & Hove Albion has allegedly decided to join Chelsea in the summer transfer window. He made his decision to move to Chelsea with Arsenal’s interest in the player having ended.

The 21-year-old was a crucial member of the Seagulls squad that won the Premier League and qualified for Europe for the first time in the club’s history under Roberto De Zerbi.

The Ecuadorian developed connections in the Brighton engine room with the likes of Alexis Mac Allister and Pascal Gross, helping the South Coast club secure a spot in the Europa League next season.

According to The Sun, the midfielder is unlikely to remain at the club by the time European evenings fall on the Amex, with Caicedo having agreed to join Chelsea.

After refusing to allow the former Beerschot man go in January, the Brighton leadership is now reported to be ready for his departure.

According to the article, the West Londoners are in the last stages of talks with Caicedo and his representatives about a move, with the Seagulls reportedly wanting £70m to £80m.

Arsenal are reported to have dropped their interest in the midfielder, with Mikel Arteta’s Gunners concentrating their efforts on wooing Declan Rice away from West Ham United.
