Nico Williams Transfer Update
Athletic Bilbao confirmed on Friday that Spanish international Nico Williams has signed a contract extension until 2027.
The club announced without disclosing financial information that the 21-year-old winger’s current contract. His current contract was set to expire in June 2024. Now, it’s extended for three more seasons.
Last season, the younger brother of Athletic Bilbao forward Inaki Williams scored nine goals in 43 games across all competitions.
Real Madrid and Barcelona, two league rivals, appeared to be pursuing Williams, who was called up to play for Spain in the most recent World Cup.
Athletic Bilbao are currently fifth in La Liga, ten points behind leaders Real Madrid.
