Paris Saint-Germain in talks with Jose Mourinho

Paris Saint-Germain are in talks with AS Roma head coach Jose Mourinho about the managerial position.

The current manager, Christophe Galtier, has been strongly rumored to be leaving after a disappointing season that saw PSG exit the French Cup and the Champions League early.

Galtier’s strategies have come under scrutiny despite PSG being in first place in the Ligue 1 standings. It is because of their patchy performance, as shown by their most recent loss to Lorient.

Furthermore, recent racism allegations against the French gaffer have exacerbated his situation, fueling speculation about his departure.

Should Galtier leave in the summer, PSG has identified Mourinho as their top candidate for the managerial position.

The Portuguese coach revived the Giallorossi and turned them into a formidable team. On the other side, Mourinho’s work at AS Roma has not gone unnoticed.

Roma recently fell to seventh place due to a slight decline. Roma has been impressive overall and will face Bayer Leverkusen in the Europa League semifinals.

PSG have yet to contact AS Roma. With the aid of Mourinho’s fellow football advisor Luis Campos—the two previously collaborated at Real Madrid—they hope to influence Mourinho.

The former Chelsea manager will seek more financial support from Roma in the transfer market, but the club’s finances will suffer if they fail to finish in the top four in Serie A and do not win the Europa League.

Elsewhere at PSG, Mourinho will be able to collaborate with Campos on transfer plans and will have more freedom in the transfer market.

Paris Saint-Germain in negotiations with Mourinho over Manager Role

Les Parisiens see Mourinho as the ideal manager to end their Champions League woes.

Lionel Messi may leave Parc des Princes this summer after getting suspension for an unauthorised trip to Saudi Arabia.

The Argentine’s relationship with the fans has also soured, with PSG fans hurling abusive chants at him recently.

According to Foot Mercato, talks have taken place between Mourinho and the French team, with the Portuguese taking over the club for the 23/24 season. Galtier has come under fire at PSG for having his promising career bizzare by losses to Bayern Munich in the Champions League round of 16 and a cup exit at the hands of a rival. Marseille has left the squad uncertain about his future as coach, putting the manager in a more than precarious position.
