Paul Winstanley has joined Chelsea from Brighton F.C. after the teams reached an agreement on a compensation deal.

Chelsea made an official announment as they hire Paul as their Director of Global Talent and Transfers. Paul Winstanley, the head of recruiting at Brighton & Hove Albion, has left the club to take up a new post at Chelsea. The deal was successful after the two Premier League clubs agreed on a substantial financial compensation.

Chelsea received permission to talk with Winstanley last month. After formally leaving Brighton after eight years with the club, it became possible before he was put on administrative leave. Winstanley expresses his excitement at joining Chelsea and working with Potter again.

“I’m happy to be joining Chelsea and continuing to collaborate with Graham Potter and his team,” Winstanley stated of his new position. There is a lot of excitement and energy surrounding the new ownership and this project. As the club enters a new age, I’m looking forward to working with such an amazing set of colleagues.”
