Pep Guardiola, the Manchester City boss has been named the Premier League Manager of the Season for 2022/23.

The Spaniard has now won the prize four times, having previously won it in 2017/18, 2018/19, and 2020/21.

Pep Guardiola led Manchester City to their third consecutive Premier League victory. City are now on the verge of completing the triple. They face Manchester United in the FA Cup final on Saturday. On the other hand, the are going to face Inter Final in the Champions League final the following weekend.

Man City trailed Arsenal for much of the season, with the Gunners leading the standings for 248 days – a Premier League record for a side that did not go on to win the title.

The Citizens tinkered and changed tactics for most of the first half of the season before settling on a 3-2-4-1 system spearheaded by record-breaking scorer Erling Haaland.

Guardiola’s most recent victory means that only one manager has won this accolade more than him: Manchester United icon Sir Alex Ferguson, who has won it 11 times.

Only three other managers have won the award several times since its introduction in 1992.
Arsene Wenger and Jose Mourinho, both three times, and Jurgen Klopp, twice are the record winners.

Pep Guardiola Named Premier League Manager of the Season

City manager Pep Guardiola has won the trophy for the fourth time in his seventh season at the Etihad Stadium.

He led City to our third Premier League championship in a succession and fifth in six years. As well as positions in the FA Cup and Champions League finals.

Following a 12-game winning streak, City won the title with three matches to spare after trailing Arsenal for much of the season.

Guardiola also received the trophy after winning the league title in 2017/18, 2018/19, and 2020/21.

Mikel Arteta (Arsenal), Roberto De Zerbi (Brighton), Unai Emery (Aston Villa), Eddie Howe (Newcastle United), and Marco Silva (Fulham) were also nominated.

Guardiola is only the second manager in Premier League history to have won more than three awards. He made this record behind Sir Alex Ferguson of Manchester United.
