Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg 'likely to leave Tottenham this summer'

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, a midfielder for Tottenham, is apparently going to weigh all of his alternatives this summer in an attempt to finalize a move away from the Spurs.

The seasoned Denmark international has been a respectable member of the Tottenham club for a while, but in more recent years, he hasn’t played as much first-team games, and it has appeared that his departure is imminent.

Given that Hojbjerg’s current Spurs deal is almost up and that he recently switched agencies, all indications are that he will be looking to make a move soon.

It’s unclear where Hojbjerg will finish up, but the 28-year-old is likely to have a number of suitors prepared to move for him and give him an opportunity. According to Fabrizio Romano, a transfer for Hojbjerg is possible this summer.

Romano had previously provided CaughtOffside with exclusive information about Hojbjerg’s status, naming some of the clubs that have expressed an interest in him in recent years.

“Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg may leave Tottenham, but the club’s attitude remains unchanged from the summer: it must be a permanent deal. Fulham and Atletico Madrid have previously expressed interest, but Tottenham has declined all loan offers and will continue to do so. “It must be a permanent transfer or a loan with an obligation to buy,” Romano stated earlier this year.

“Hojbjerg wants to leave, and Tottenham knows it. At the same time, they can’t accept a loan for an important player like him, so unless the right offer comes in, it’s hard to see him leaving.”

Football Insider and others have also suggested that THFC could recruit Conor Gallagher as a midfield replacement.
