Marcus Rashford is the Premier League’s February Player of the Month.
Our no.10 wins the award for the second month in a row after winning it in January, giving him three for the season after winning it in September.
Marcus was the deserving winner from the six-man shortlist after scoring five goals in only four league games during the month, adding the honour to his club Player-of-the-Month title in February.
Rashford spoke with MUTV’s Mark Sullivan on another excellent month and his United award triumph.
“It’s absolutely always wonderful to be in the conversation,” he stated of his club’s fan-voted prize. “I believe that anyone can have been chosen as Player of the Month, especially during the preceding three months.
“It absolutely makes me feel really happy that I have done to achieve it three times; everyone whom is vote for deserves to win it.
“All the guys that have been up for it, even some of the ones that haven’t been up for it deserve it. That demonstrates that we are growing as a team and, hopefully, will continue to do so.”
Marcus Rashford win the Player of the Month Award for the Third Time this Season
Marcus also chose his favorite February moment, and there were plenty to choose from, from the two-leg win over Barcelona to the Carabao Cup victory against Newcastle.
“Maybe the Nou Camp,” he responded when asked what was his favorite moment of the month.
“Last time I played there away, I felt like there were chances in the game, but I just didn’t take any of the chances. We didn’t take advantage of enough of the opportunities that I saw throughout the game.
“They ended up defeating us 3-0 that night, and I was thinking this time about going back there and making sure we generate opportunities and attempt to convert them.”
Of course, Rashford’s goal was crucial against the Catalans, as we earned a 2-2 draw at the Nou Camp before defeating Barcelona 2-1 at home barely a week later.
Marcus could have picked from a number of outstanding moments in February, as he increased his season total to 25. On Thursday night, number 26 opened the scoring with a thunderbolt strike in a 4-1 Europa League triumph over Real Betis.
Looking ahead to the next months, it appears that our leading scorer will get further awards.
MARCUS RASHFORD, CONGRATULATIONS on your AWARD!
