The attacker will likely sign a contract with Manchester United on Wednesday after concluding his test on Tuesday night.

There are rumors circulating that the 20-time English champions and Atalanta BC had finalized a deal for the Denmark international over the weekend.

Hojlund did not play in Atalanta’s pre-season friendly against Bournemouth on Saturday, despite reports that Manchester United were close to signing him.

Following a decline in the parties’ initial estimates, the 20-year-old’s deal is worth a total of €70 million (£60.1 million).

According to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, the forward finished his medical exams with Manchester United on Tuesday, as well as the first part of his media obligations at the club.

According to Romano, Hojlund will formally sign his Red Devils contract on Wednesday, with an announcement from Erik ten Hag’s side following immediately after.

As a result, the Dane is likely to train with his teammates at Carrington before the end of the week, with a view to appearing in friendly against Lens or Athletic Bilbao this weekend.

If Hojlund proves his health, he could make his competitive debut for his new team on August 14 against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the 2023-24 Premier League.

The forward is likely to become Manchester United’s third signing of the summer transfer season, following the arrivals of Mason Mount and Andre Onana.

Hojlund joined Atalanta from Sturm Graz last year, scoring 10 goals and registering four assists in 34 games for the Italian club.

It was widely reported earlier this year that Harry Kane would be joining Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford. But it soon became clear that the England captain would not be sold to a domestic rival.

Meanwhile, the Red Devils priced out a deal for Napoli’s Victor Osimhen. Osimhen is likely to stay in Italy for at least another season.

It’s said that Man United is close to adding Fiorentina’s Sofyan Amrabat to their roster as they grow.

But with Scott McTominay, Fred, Donny van de Beek, and Harry Maguire all linked to departures from the team. Probably subject to exits are any other additions.
