RCB calls Kedar Jadhav for IPL

The Royal Challengers Bangalore has announced on Monday that Kedar Jadhav will replace the injured David Willey for the remainder of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023.

Willey, an England all-rounder, played four matches for RCB this season and took three wickets.

Jadhav, who made his IPL debut in 2010, has played 93 IPL games and scored 1196 runs. The right-handed batter, who previously played 17 games for RCB, was signed for INR 1 crore.

With eight points from as many games, Royal Challengers Bangalore are sixth in the IPL standings. On May 1, RCB will face the second-placed Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).

Before the game, RCB wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik stated that if everyone steps up, RCB will be difficult to beat. Rajat Patidar, RCB’s batter, was injured. Because of the middle-order struggles, Virat Kohli and captain Faf Du Plessis have had to do the majority of the scoring.

“There were some good meetings. This is a very interesting part of the tournament, as well as an interesting position in the table; the Bangalore venue has been 50-50 for us. “I think it’s been a difficult ground for the bowlers at times, as well as the middle-order batters,” Karthik told RCB.

“The wickets may help the bowlers a lot more in the next few games, so we have to find a way to get the runs that are required for us to defend totals and score the runs that the opposition has scored.”

Jadhav was doing Marathi commentary after going unsold in this year’s IPL auction.
