Real Madrid may get a lot of money for Mendy. Saudi Arabia is putting up a plan.

Real Madrid set to sell Ferland Mendy

This summer, Real Madrid are willing to sell Ferland Mendy.

According to As, head coach Carlo Ancelotti is relying on the defender, therefore the club has no plans to let him leave, but will consider it if a strong deal comes in.

According to Cadena SER, Saudi Arabia is developing such a scheme.

The Frenchman’s contract will end in the summer of 2025 and contains a release clause of 250 million euros.

Mendy appeared in 18 La Liga games and contributed one assist in 2022/23.

Real Madrid is willing to consider all proposals for Ferland Mendy

Carlo Ancelotti prefers Ferland Mendy to remain at Real Madrid for the 2023-24 season. The Italian tactician views the Frenchman as a capable backup in case something happens to the new left-back, Fran Garcia, because he does not want the events of last season to happen again.

Surprisingly, the club does not agree. Real Madrid would rather sell the player and reclaim the money. The administration is skeptical of his fitness because he has had several setbacks this season.

Mendy, for one, wants to stay at the club and compete for a starting berth, even if it means signing a new deal. It is still unclear who will prevail between the three groups because each of them has a different perspective on the problem.

Ancelotti had just the Frenchman to rely on as a natural left-back last season. Due to his fitness issues, Eduardo Camavinga was obliged to take on defensive responsibilities to fill the void.

The child performed admirably in the isolated situation. However, the coach views him as a starting midfielder for the next season. He does not want to risk forcing Camavinga to play at left-back once more.

Needless to say, Fran Garcia’s performance in preseason will be crucial. If Mendy continues his form from Rayo Vallecano, he may be allowed to leave the club.

If Garcia puts in a bad performance, the Santiago Bernabeu staff will be concerned. In such a case, Ancelotti would have to rely on Mendy for the upcoming season, since a fresh addition does not look likely.

Real Madrid will try to recruit Alphonso Davies from Bayern Munich in 2024. The young Canadian full-back is one of the game’s most promising prospects, and is thought to be one of three players Real Madrid feels obligated to sign for the future.
