Wolves have agreed to transfer midfielder Ruben Neves to Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal for £47 million.

Personal circumstances shouldn’t be a problem. Neves is open to the move after talks with Barcelona fell through.

Neves revealed at the end of the season that he wanted to play in the Champions League. He stated it as he considered his future in European Football.

“Let’s wait and see what happens.” I constantly say the same thing: I adore being here. “However, I never hide the fact that I want to play Champions League football,” he stated.

“You have to go for your main goals in football.”

“That will be a huge decision for me and my family.”

The 26-year-old was once associated with Manchester United, and his deal at Molineux will end next summer.

During the 2022/23 Premier League season, Portugal midfielder Neves scored six goals and produced one assist in 35 Premier League appearances for Wolves.

He joined Wolves from Porto in July 2017 and has made 253 appearances for the club.

Neves would be the latest high-profile player to join the Saudi Pro League. His teammate, Cristiano was signed with Al Nassr in December last year.

The reigning Ballon d’Or winner, former Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema, has also moved to Saudi Arabia this summer. After leaving Real Madrid after 14 years, the 35-year-old signed for Al Ittihad, who are managed by former Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo.

According to reports, Chelsea trio N’Golo Kante, Kalidou Koulibaly, and Hakim Ziyech are receiving attention from Saudi Arabia, while Manchester City’s Riyad Mahrez is another possible target for Gulf State teams.
